Businesses come in all shapes, Big to small, Franchises to mum and dad shops. Most companies are all in the same industry trying to fight for a big piece of the pie that all the other businesses are fighting for. It includes places like restaurants or electronic shops. But what about other markets? Let’s have a look into the near untapped industries and the wacky businesses that found footing in the oddest of places.

Retro

Video games have become quite popular recently, with it going from what was initially a “nerdy” hobby into mainstream culture. Nowadays the graphics are crazy, and the consoles have been improved on, but not everyone is digging the new games. Some people prefer the old arcade classics, and that is where these few small companies come in. They refurbish and sell old arcade machines to hobbyists along with collectors alike. Some of these companies even make an all in one cabinet that lets you play many arcade games on one system. However, these are more of a new style and looked down on by some purists.

Crazy Packaging

Ever had an arch nemesis? We that’s all good because these companies are willing to ship the silliest things to them if you know their address. Some companies send envelopes with glitter which when opened go everywhere making a mess of the immediate area of your enemy. Another one ships gummi sweets shaped to look like some less than savory parts. There is also a company that makes greeting cards that say obscene things to send to your enemy.

Meow

Cat Cafes have been on the rise all over the world, it’s pretty standard in Japan, but it’s only just started picking up everywhere else. The point of the cafes is a place for people to have something to eat or drink while they can enjoy the view of cats that play around freely in the space. It is a pretty good idea. Some people don’t have time to look after their animal but want to enjoy having a cute furry creature around them, so the market has become popular and in demand recently.

Pet Rock

Following on from pets and sometimes the fact that people don’t have the time or ability to own a common pet is another business that makes a pretty decent profit. Pets rocks, someone created a company out of selling pet rocks to people and was able to turn a profit with it. If anything, this is the perfect example of an untapped market.
